The Department of Aeronautical Engineering desires to give a broad multi-disciplinary education in the field of aviation, space exploration and development of aircraft. The Department believes that the knowledge gained through practical implementation is more valued, thereby provides competitive and vibrant academic program to produce technologists and professionals for national and global needs. The Department aims to prepare the young engineers to become globally competent technocrats in the areas of aeronautical and aerospace engineering disciplines with practical orientation.

About the Department
Established in 2010, Aeronautical Engineering department is a premier teaching centre today. The department is engaged in engineering design of Advance Aircrafts,in-flight laboratory work, aerodynamic testing, and indigenous design and fabrication of advanced Composite Materials. The department specializes in Aerodynamics, Flight Dynamics, Propulsion, and Aircraft structures. It has a unique flight laboratory with CESSNA 172 Trainer Aircraft.The department has currently involved in a large number of Projects in the Area of Composite Materials & Unmanned Aerial Vehicle respectively.
The Department provides a congenial environment for learning, reinforced with the principles of Aeronautical Engineering, promoting creativity and nurturing teamwork.The Department has well equipped laboratories such as Propulsion Laboratory, Aero Engine and Airframe Laboratory, Aerodynamics Laboratory, Aircraft Structures Laboratory, Strength of Materials Laboratory and Fluid Mechanics & Machineries to provide in-depth knowledge.
Over the years the department has also developed excellent collaborative relationship with leading Industry for national importance with a large number of aeronautical establishments including HAL,NAL,DRDO,ISRO etc.

In matters of teaching, research & development, the Aeronautical Department has always maintained a balance between hardware development and experiments on one hand and theory with computational aspects on the other. A sincere student community and wholehearted support of the dedicated faculty have contributed in no small measure to the professional successes enjoyed by a good number of individuals who graduated from our department. The department has been continually changing and evolving to meet the needs of modern industry and to train its students to pursue their goals with concentrated determination that has led former students to the greatest heights in their endeavor.
